5th House - Pratibha

By Sri Chiraan 2009/06/15

If 5th house is exalted and there is a relationship with the lagna lord, And both lords are in vaisheshika amsa, there will be special skill acquired by the native. Jupiter exalted in vimsamsa and Jupiter in kanduka will give the same result.

Karna’s specialist skill:

He could never be defeated if is not competing. I.e. If he is fighting for justice or fighting as a duty, no one can defeat him. This was the boon of Parshuraam.

If he is fighting in the chariot given by Parshuram, then he cannot be disarmed, or his chariot never perishes.

His bow Vijay if its string is cut it automatically regenerates. They can send thousands of arrows in one single shoot.

Karna had Kavach and Kundal, with which he cannot be killed piercing that kavach by anyone who is below SUN deity.

Karna having Shakti in his hand any opponent is susceptible to death.

Karna had a special blessings of Krishna as Krishna himself was present in him at times. It is at these times that KARNA cannot be equalled by anyone. But then it is Krishna, and not Karna who is unrivalled in him. It was this presence of Krishna as avesha that caused fear among all the opponents.

Karna’s shortfall:

Karna had the curse of Parshuram that whenever he fights to obtain selfish desires, or competes on the footings of wrong intent, he will lose.

Karna had another curse that he would forget all his skill when he requires them most. Karna had another curse that he will lose his chariot when his death nears.

Karna had a boon that his fame will remain unsullied, and he will achieve what he was always clamouring for, to be called equal to Arjun.

Arjun’s special skill:

Arjun’s quiver never exhausted, they will automatically be filled with arrows. All others will have to carry arrows, but Arjun need not. He will always have quiver full of arrows. This was a special quiver.

Arjun’s bow could dispel eight variety of arrows:

a> One which can create a thousand arrows.

b> One which can create illusions , one which can show fiery images to opponents.

c> One which can cover entire battlefield to darkness with arrows.

d> One which can shield him from opponent arrows with a sheath of arrows

e> One which can kill selectively from amongst the group

f> One which can make visible invisible opponents

g> Arrows which can search its target and hit.

h> One which just touches the opponent without killing or hurting him.

Arjuns Gandiva was a bow, which could not be cut or its string does not slit. It produced sound that can kill a hundreds of elephants. Clouds rained just by the shriek of Gandiva.

Arjuns horses could not be slained. They can run in all 10 directions. They don’t tire and fly in the air as well. Arjuns chariot could not be destroyed. Up to one mile of chariot no ordinary arrows can even pierce its range leave alone reach Arjun.

The flag of chariot contained Hanuman, who by blowing wind through his mouth dispelled a storm, and enemy weapons and enemies like small soldiers would get blown away by the wind.

Arjun’s charioteer was Krishna who drove his chariot so fast that even before Arjun’s arrows touched the target, Arjuns chariot would have crossed it.

Arjun could pull arrow from both his hands, and could fight enemy invisible only through his sound. He could hit even at the leg of fly. He could send arrows as long as 200 yojan, that's 1600 miles.

Both Karna and Arjun could fight simultaneously with 1 Lakh Warriors along with their Armies.

Arjun and Karna’s shortfall - they were ordinary if without Astras. Karna needed both Boons and Astras to win. Arjun needed Astras only.

Bheema's speciality:

He was of superior most strength. He never used Astras. He was faster than Astra.

He was hotter than Astra i.e. Astras got burnt to ashes when touched Bheema.

He could dispel any Astra by his mere speed and strength. He had strength even in his skin. The weapons never hurt him as he could easily cut them through his hands and fists.

His hit of fists powdered mountains. He killed elephants and soldiers with fists only. He could kill 2 crore people in two vighatika 48 seconds.

He could fly, pierce through fire without getting hurt. He ran faster than chariots. He obstructed chariots by killing elephants and piling it all around the chariot.

His roar deafened horses and they died on the spot vomiting blood. He was terrible in the war, enemies ran away just by seeing him hence

He is known as BHEEMSEN. As Bheem only relied on strength and no astras or boons, he was the superior most Warrior.

Anadi Karma

 By Sri Chiraan 2009/01/09

  • Anadi means that which does not have beginning.
  • We suffer or enjoy due to past karma.
  • That means we have done some karma earlier that we are reaping today.
  • So in the previous birth, what were we suffering or enjoying? our past karma again.
  • So if we go back each janma [birth], we will say it was all but past karma.
  • So are we not getting into infinite regress.
  • Where does this past karma begin.
  • Are there any initial conditions.
  • Who determines these initial conditions.
  • Were they same for each of us?
  • If they were same then why did we all not respond to it in similar way?
  • If at all we had responded similarly, wouldn’t we be all in a same equal position with equal happiness and unhappiness.
  • In that case we would be in a static world.
  • But this is not so! Not only are we seeing the diverse world and diverse people but also diverse karma.
  • So initial conditions were not the same.
  • Were some initial conditions favourable to some and disadvantageous to others.
  • Then whoever has set these initial conditions he cannot be an impartial entity.
  • Is God responsible for these initial conditions? No.
  • Because God is Impartial.
  • Then is there really something called beginning of karma? No.
  • Because then it would give infinite regress.
  • Then what is this beginning of Karma? In fact it is beginning-less karma.
  • It is known as ANADI KARMA.
  • It is our linga deha.
  • It comes natural, as a banana fruit comes with a skin, as grains come with a outer layer.
  • So does soul comes into this world with a natural linga deha, which sets pretexts to karma.
  • This linga deha [anadi karma] loosens its grip on the soul as the soul goes through the series of experiences good and bad .
  • As it loosens completely it becomes porous enough for the soul to see itself.
  • As soul sees more and more of its self, we call it has enlightened.
  • Finally when it has a dip in Viraja river that separates this universe from Vaikuntha
  • It attains Moksha.

Shri Krishna says in Bhagavadgeeta while explaining Jnyana Yoga, "I had taught this yoga of Nishkaam karma to Surya [Vivaswan], he in turn told it to his son Vivaswat Manu. Manu taught it to Ikshvaku and slowly it spread to many rajarshis and other rishis as parampara. Then it lost into ignominy. You are my devotee and childhood friend thus I will reveal this most secret dictum to you”.

Arjuna says "Recent is your birth in the time, Surya was born many lakhs of years ago, then how did you teach him this yoga?"

Krishna says "You and I have taken many births already. I remember all of them, you do not know those auspicious births. I am beginning less and endless. My body and self is without end and enters prakruti through my own will. All my avataras are beginning-less and permanent. I only appear with my will, whenever there is lapse in Dharma and adharma vridhdhi, to punish the sinner and to uplift the Sadhus and to protect and establish Dharma".

Ascendant - Qualities of Individual

By Sri Chiraan 2008/12/26

Ascendant is the sign rising in the east, at the time of birth. Ascendant determines the qualities of an individual.

  • When aspected by benefics one will have beauty and happiness of the body
  • When tenanted by benefics ,one will have bodily beauty
  • When moon is conjunct benefics , one will be beautiful
  • When moon is aspected by benefics , one will be beautiful
  • When in good bhavas, one will be righteous
  • Jupiter or venus in kendras will make one righteous

Pandu wanted a son who would justly rule the world. Thus he asked Kunti to pray Dharmaraj [Yama] to bestow a son by his grace who would be Just and righteous. Thus Yudhisthira was born.

Again at the end of the year Pandu thought, it will just be not enough to be good and righteous, one requires strength to save oneself from the enemies, thus he asked Kunti to pray the most powerful in the universe to bestow son. Lord is most powerful, after him Lord vayu is most powerful, thus Kunti prayed Vayu to bestow her a strong son. Bheema was born, as she was holding him [child] on the peak of a mountain [shatshrunga], the child slipped, mother was in a state of shock, but Lo! as the child fell on the mountain, it broke it pieces [such was the strength of Bheema, even as a child], now it rightly justified its shatashrunga [mountain with hundred peaks owing to cracks].

Pandu again contemplated, when enemy attacks, Bheema may save him from external aggression, on an expedition, other enemies might attack the land, hence there has to be one more strong warrior son to save the land during such times. Now Vayu was the most powerful, he has already been approached, Kunti cannot call him again [as per the boon of Durvasa], after Vayu, Garuda shesha and Rudra are powerful, Garuda does not take birth on earth [as principle], Shesha and Rudra are very hot tempered personalities, thus it would not be wise to have such sons. So next in line is INDRA, so Kunti prays Indra to bestow a son, thus Arjuna is born.

Pandu now wished to have more sons, but this time a handsome one, with bodily felicity. Kunti refused, just as previous requests were justified for the sake of kingdom, this one was purely personal and did not justify the niyog process of obtaining a son. So Pandu insisted on giving the devavashikarana mantra to Madri, Kunti gave upadesha to Madri with a condition that she could use it only once [because if she had more sons than her, then they may engage in mutual fight]. Madri wanted two sons and hence thought to call Ashwini twins to get two sons in one stroke. Thus Nakul and Sahadev were born. They were extremely beautiful.

Bheema and Arjuna were also beautiful [handsome] but their bodies were extremely hard and well toned. Probably people consider only tender bodies to be handsome and beautiful in the world. Beauty is of two types 1. inner beauty of qualities, beauty of mind [suniti] and external beauty of features.

Nakul was very handsome [beauty of body] and Sahadeva was extremely noble  with expertise in neetishastra [beauty of mind].

  • All women like people who are noble. [Sahadev]
  • Women like people who have good features more than noble persons. [Nakul]
  • Women like truthful people more than men with beauty. [Yudhisthira]
  • Women like dynamic, brilliant successful people more than truthful men [Arjuna]
  • Women like well built, intelligent saviour men more than anything else in this world [Bheemasena].

Thus Bheema was most liked by Both Krushnaa [Draupadi] and Krishna [Lord Vishnu].

Karna - The unfortunate, jealous and egoistic Warrior

By Sri Chiraan 2008/11/25

The birth of Karna was an unfortunate event. But Sympathy for Karna Stops here. Because at every stage God having helped him Karna out rightly chose his own selfish path annoying several along the way. For example:

  • When Drona refused to teach him, he went to Drona's Guru Shri Parshuram to learn the astras.
  • He lied to God Parshurama that He is Brahmin to learn astras. (God Knowingly teaches him all, because God knew Duryodhan would  wage a war against Pandavas only on the confidence of Karna’s capability).
  • But when caught Karna did not humbly accept his lie but persisted with it (Perhaps God would have forgiven him had he accepted). Hence he obtains curse that his learning will not help him in competition, all other times he would be unparalleled.
  • Karna accepts friendship of Duryodhana only to oppose Arjun. (Lack of morals)
  • When Father (Sun) advises him not to give kavach kundal to Indra, he disobeys Father and gives it away.
  • When Mother Kunti asks him not to harm Pandavas, he displeases her saying he would kill Arjun
  • When Lord Krishna offers him the entire Kingdom of the universe to join Pandavas as eldest brother in war, he rejects Lord’s suggestion and fights for Duryodhana. (Ego before the Lord)
  • Was he loyal to Duryodhan? No, when Bheeshma calls him “ardharathi”, He does not enter battlefield for 10 days till Bheeshma falls. So much for a false friendship. (Given to anger)
  • He was acclaimed as Daan Veer, but he had taken a vow that he would donate only till he kills Arjun, his dana was only out of ego and jealousy towards Arjun, to attain fame and not to please God or recipient .
  • When Bheemasena strikes on his chariot, he hid under the chariot in fear leaving his shakti astra. He was defeated thrice by Bheemasena during Rajsuya yagna, this even when he had Kavach and Kunadala. (Was he veer).

When one annoys so many elders, and is disobedient, given to falsehood, bitten by jealousy and ego and anger, can one expect success? One becomes the architect of his own misfortunes. Karna fell due to failure of chariot, lapse of memory absence of kavach kundala and shakti of Indra.

People born under Aquarius lagna and navamsa are given to such characteristic, though they attain fame, and heroics in practical life it helps them in none, but only brings misfortunes. When both benefics and malefics aspect a particular house results are mixed in nature giving success and failure alternatively, provided both benefics and malefics are of equal strength.

Shri Krishna, Astrology and Arjuna: The great Pandava

By Sri Chiraan 2008/10/23

Arjuna was born in utaraphalguni nakshatra in the moon sign Virgo. This sign is compatible with Taurus hence Arjuna was very close to Krishna born in Taurus. Krishna explained Bhagavadgeetha to him, showed his Vishwaroopa to him. Arjuna could fight simultaneously with 10000 warriors , Arjuna single handily defeated entire Kaurava army consisting of Bheeshma, Karna, Duryodhana, Ashwatthama, Kripacharya, Dronacharya, Shalya, etc, thrice before Mahabharatha war. Arjuna had the great Gandeeva bow, which was 22000 kgs in weight, it could simultaneous expel eight kinds of arrows

  1. moorcha
  2. mohana
  3. bhranthi
  4. one that creates dazzling light
  5. one which multiplies in arrow after it leaves into thousands
  6. one which releases spirits and pisacha
  7. maya
  8. one which induces tendency of suicide in the opponent.

Arjuna was very handsome, and expert in dancing and singing and disguising. Arjuna had a long belly as a result of which, he always kept travelling and missing family life. Arjuna had  many wives too. Subhadra was most dear to Him. He had another wife from Tripura (kaamroopa desh), he had a son Babruvahan from her. He had another son who was incarnation of mars from Uluchi. These both sons of Arjuna unknowingly bring death blow to Him.

Man according to astrology is born with a initial longevity at birth. A man can live maximum of 120 years and five days on earth. If one is careless with life, one can get premature death (apamrutyu). In case of premature death, one has to wander body-less on the very earth till he allocated longevity is exhausted. Hence one has to take precaution with respect to safety of the self. Also every person born on this earth is allocated some work /achievements to accomplish. If his accomplishments are exemplary w.r.t efforts he puts in, God extends his life expectancy towards a full of 120 years .

Arjuna defied death many times in his life. Every time he died he was brought back to life by Krishna. such incidents are

  1. Laksha graha, (Bheema sena saves him by taking him on his shoulders)
  2. Yaksha prashna (Yaksha Yama brings him back to life)
  3. Combat with Pasupati (Shiva blesses him with Pashupati astra)
  4. Combat with Babruvahan (Krishna brings back to life)
  5. Combat with son of Uluchi (Krishna brings back to life)
  6. Curse of Urvashi ( he turns Transvestite, Krishna makes it appear as a boon to him in vanavasa)
  7. Jarasandha chooses Bheemasena to fight instead of Arjuna( Krishna influences his choice)
  8. Combat with Karna (nagastra) [Krishna saves him by pressing his chariot one inch below ground ,thus astra hits crown]
  9. To bring back son of Bramhana (Krishna takes him Narayana loka, shows him NaraNarayana)
  10. Attempt at suicide before killing Jayadrath (saved by Krishna by stopping sunset with SudarshanChakra)
  11. Attempt at suicide for not being able to Kill Yudhistira,  as latter had insulted Gandiva. (Saved by Krishna, who asks him to praise himself [akin to suicide])
  12. Combat with Shalya (Krishna asks him step back to attain victory)
  13. Combat with Bhargavdatta (use of vaishnavastra Krishna taking it on himself as garland)
  14. Use of shakti by Karna on Ghatotkacha (thus saving Arjuna)
  15. Burning of Chariot after Mahabharatha war (Krishna asks Arjuna to step down first, and then steps down later after which chariot burns up)
  16. Duryodhan chooses Bheemasena to fight his last battle.( Krishna uses his maya avoids Arjun)
  17. Bramhastra by ashwatthama (Krishna asks Ashwatthana to divert his brahmhastra)
  18. Ashwatthama killing all uppandavas thinking they are Pandavas. (Krishna takes Arjun away to another place).

Arjuna was saved many times from death, death like situations, and even after certain death he was brought back to life. And all this because it was his progeny, son of Abhimanyu (which Krishna wanted to save to rule the earth), Parikshit who ruled the earth after Mahabharath, with great rulers like Janmejay, Shatanik, Sahasranik, and finally Kshemak ruling this earth in the lineage of Somavansha, Pandavas.for 1000 years.

The other names of Arjuna are

  1. arjuna
  2. anagha
  3. kapidhwaja [he had Hanuman on his flag]
  4. kurushrestha
  5. kurunandan [born in lineage of kuru]
  6. kurupravir
  7. kaunteya [son of kunthi]
  8. gudakesha [performed penance alone in a cave on indrakeela parvat without food and sleep for pasupatastra]
  9. dhananjay
  10. dhanurdhar
  11. parantap
  12. Parth
  13. purushvyaghra
  14. purusharshabha
  15. Bharath
  16. Mahabaho
  17. Pandava
  18. Bharathshreshta
  19. Bharathsattam
  20. savyasachi [one who can leave arrows from both hands simultaneously]
  21. Phalguna.

Shri Krishna, Astrology and HIS 16108 wives

By Sri Chiraan 2008/10/22

Shri Krishna was born in rohini nakshatra  with a moon sign Taurus. People born in this star are inimical to maternal uncles. Kamsa was maternal uncle of Shri Krishna whom Shri Krishna killed to relieve earth of a vile demon. Krishna was born when Taurus was rising with moon and Venus in it. seventh lord mars exalted in Capricorn (9th house), Saturn exalted in libra (6th house) since 10th was in sixth Krishna never had a kingdom of his ( all though entire universe is his kingdom shown by exalted 10th house). Sun was in Leo the 4th house. exaltation of seventh lord along with its depositor with Venus in own house, and aspect of moon on seventh makes one have innumerable wives. Lord Krishna had 16108 wives. Aspect of moon and venus on seventh house also makes one have affairs.  Krishna gave sexual pleasure to a kubja. He had rasaleela with gopika stree and Radha in gokula although he was only ten years old then.(kishoreavastha). Lord exists in everyone, it is he only who primarily enjoys in a human body and gives enjoyment to the soul too. He existed even in husbands of the gopika stree(s). there was nothing he did not know about their bodies as their husband, or there was nothing extra/new that they could offer to Krishna in the absence of their husbands. Hence Krishna did not have any allegations on him on account of these affairs. Look at the aspect of exalted Jupiter from third house on seventh. Aspect or association of jupiter with seventh house gives rise to shuchi yoga i.e.. one who is  extremely clean with respect to sexual conduct. He does not indulge in Vyabichara or illicit sex. Also this yoga gives one a pious and obedient wife Rukmini, Satyabhama, Jambavati, Neela, Mitravinda, lakshana, Kalindi, Bhadra devi, and 16100 kanyas released from the prison of Jarasandha, 16108 wives.

Shri Krishna married  Neeladevi in a swayamvara, that was more difficult than Draupadi swayamvar. In Draupadi swayamvar a warrior was supposed to pierce the eye of the fish fixed on rotating disc by aiming at the reflection of the disc in the water kept in a bowl below the disc.Arjuna successfully claimed Draupadi.

But in Neela swayamvar, the fish was on the upper side of the rotating disc. The mirror in which the reflection need be seen was fixed below  the disc to the ground. There was a hole in the disc. The warrior had to watch the fish on the ceiling mirror once, hit his arrow through the hole observing it in the below mirror, it should get broken by another arrow hit through the hole and then when the broken arrow is in its trail  downwards, it should pierce the fish. Only Krishna could accomplish this feat rest all fail. Showing superiority of Krishna.

to be continued……………………….

Astrology and importance of efforts

By Sri Chiraan 2008/10/21

Astrological charts shows the effects of past karma. What is past karma, the deeds we have done through mind, speech and actions in the past lives. Are we not doing anything in this life as karma? Does this mean whatever Pooja, prayers ,good deeds I am doing now are only for next life? why then astrologers suggest remedy ? remedy that we do now are they not karma,do they give effect in this life or next life?

Most of these questions we have answered in this article that karmas done in this life also contribute to the present and alters effects we reap now, but when things go wrong even after extreme efforts, we leave it to fate and become passive. Does shastras permit such kind of behaviour. is there any incident highlighting this conclusion.

We shall examine few incidence :

  1. Dharmashastra says whatever lost in the gamble or whatever given to a wife can be taken back ,and should not be considered as commitment. Hence when Yudhisthira lost his Kingdom in a gamble to kauravas. He could have claimed it back. Even Vidur suggests Dhritarashtra to return Kingdom on account of above shastra. Bheemasena asks his brother Yudhistira to attack Hastinapur after 12 months of vanvasa, here for the purpose of keeping dharma 12 months of vanvasa was enough to have undergone 12 years (there are many types of years in astrology, chandra, saura, btahaspatya, nakshatri, savanmana, pitrumana, devmana, bramhamana, varying in number of days in a year, for various occasions various years need to be considered). This is dharma [right conduct]. But Yudhistira refuses (a tendency for lack of efforts). Finally when vanvasa is over Duryodhana refuses to accept chandraman, because he follows saura mana solar year of 365days, and according to him 12+1 years was not yet over still few months left, thus war breaks out due to dispute.
  2. Hanuman was a great astrologer too. He knew Ravana was to be killed by Rama, so even if he was capable of killing Ravana, he spared him many times. Yet when Ravan was taking away Seeta Devi, both Hanuman and Sugreeva watch him take away, since Rama had not yet approached Sugreeva, he preferred inaction, But Hanuman flew immediately (here Ramayana would have been over even before Rama meets Sugreeva), so Sugreeva stops him as an order from the king, Hanuman was minister.
  3. Bheemasena and Duryodhana both were special beings as they did not require formal education to get their respective knowledge. Hence both from the day 1 of the birth knew that they were rivals and wanted to kill each other. Bheemasena had he been eldest among Pandavas, would have killed Duryodhana the day he was born, such is his zeal to perform duty towards the Lord Krishna. Yudhistira being eldest stops time and again to stretch Mahabharath to point where it is fought when Arjuna was 68 years old. Duryodhan was 70 years of age at the time of war.
  4. Lord Krishna makes an effort for peace between Kauravas and Pandavas, (though HE knew there would be a war eventually according to the great prediction of VedVyasa, who had written Mahabharath even before Bheeshma was born). He made an effort by selecting a suitable muhurtha named “maitra” on a Dwadashi  day. He went to Hastinapur proposed peace but was rejected and insulted by Shakuni.

(Can we imagine God himself making a vain effort!)

  1. When vastraharan of Draupadi Devi was taking place, Draupadi devi had her fists completely clenching her sari (a sign of doubt on God and extreme confidence on one’s own strength, so that if god does not come to help at least I can still hold on to the saree and avoid being stripped) as Dushyasana was pulling it. Draupadi Devi was praying for help to Krishna, who had not yet come. Slowly Draupadi Devi realised she would not be able to hold on to the clasp of saree for long and hence she leaves the clasp and raises both hands to completely depend on God for help. Here Krishna appears losing no time and supplies reams of saree such that her honour is saved and Dushyasan faints.

From above incidents we can conclude that, though astrology says (according to our past karma) we do not have luck to succeed immediately, we should not remain passive like Yudhistira and Sugreeva, but when it comes to duty we must immediately rush for it, irrespective of good days and bad days, irrespective of chances of success or failure according to Astrology (if there is no chance of success, we need not avoid a duty [avashya karma]) like Hanuman and Bheemasena. If there is really a destiny to negate our efforts then it would come in a Godly inspiration as in forms of Yudhistira as elder brother, or Sugreeva as a superior authority, and we are spared from the clutches of karma. If destiny is favourable we shall succeed.

Effort is an Effort, it should be made sincerely with all the might and force. Situation like good time and bad time should not downsize our efforts especially those which are our prime duty. Success and failures are subject to God’s will. What counts for a soul is only efforts. In Bhagavadgeeta Arjuna asks "Hey Krishna what use is killing all my brethren and preceptors and relatives and friends, all I would get is only a kingdom that would end with my death as well is this war really worth it", Krishna says to Arjuna, "hey Arjun even if you don’t fight, I would still get all these people killed and that too by your own hands, but you shall go to hell for not obeying me. And you shall face disgrace in history for your cowardice too. But if willingly you fight you would attain my grace."

A soul’s Karma is judged more on the basis of his efforts rather than outcome of his karma

Effect of the debilitated planet – Yudhisthira

By Sri Chiraan 2008/10/08/

Yudhisthira had a combination of Raja Yoga enabling him to lord over entire 11 lokas. His kingdom /Lordship exceeded that of Indra. Having defeated both Indra and Shiva with the help of Bheemasena and Arjuna. It was during such invasion on swarga Arjuna confronted Urvasi and got cursed. Showing they had transworld interaction in the very human form. But despite such beautiful combination raja yoga (dharma karmadhipati in simhasanamsha), Yudhisthira was born in vrishchika rasi having moon debilitated. Even if one planet is debilitated ,  during its dasa and antardasa gives loss wealth, position, and danger of death. and such antardasa repeatedly come in once life. Look how Yudhisthira continuosly at frequent intervals in his life faced dangers of Death (laksha graha, ekchakrapuri, yaksha prasna ,chitrasena gandharva, vanavasa, virat nagar agyat vasa, arjuna’s wrath on Yudhisthira, karna letting him go alive, dyut krida twice, khandava dahan) .their last rites were performed by people of hastinapur thrice ,even while they were alive, He suffered poverty many times, born in jungle, went to ekchakrapuri lived in a broken house giving rent to a poor bramhin, during vanvasa  Sage Durvasa had come to ask food when everything in his house was empty, a day of poverty(even though he had akshaya patra he could not feed Durvasa, ofcourse Lord Krishna helped him out).when he did ashwamedha yagya after Mahabharata war he had no money to feed bramhins  so Krishna  again saved him  with treasure of Vali from Ramayana. left over wealth of King Bali beyond Meru. All this for a debilitated planet. The avastha described for debilitated planet is Rikta BY Muni Parashar, it does not leave even a great emperor of the 11 worlds.

But continuing from previous post, could all these have been avoided by the living apostle of Dharma of his times.  Answer is Yes , because these souls Yudhisthira, Nala ,Harishchandra, Laxmana, all these are above nine planets in terms of strength and calibre. They can very well command these planets to shower good fortune without break irrespective of their destiny. Then why did they have misfortune take over them. There are multiple reasons for these behaviour. We shall examine them one by one.

1. these were all divine beings descended from the heavens. They were not humans in any way. When super humans descend , they have ,a secret oath ,administered in the court of Lord Narayana that they would ,all the while ,resist from using their divine powers /abilities. Most of these births are to be born as aides to Lord to serve him on the earth . to delude demons into believing that they are just humans. Hence the pact is to remain as human as possible. One who fulfils this condition is given more marks i.e. more appreciation from Lord Krishna. But not all keep their promises. Some out of anger / ego and sometimes in disgust at the events around them , just remember their original form and regain their abilities and powers. but they lose out in the race . Just as we humans have a race in the life as to who will live an honest and serene life . but many of us fail in given circumstances to keep our honesty and serenity. we sin. These greats do not sin under any circumstances and that is why they are divine . But they are judged by the above criteria. (i shall give some examples of such behaviour in next posts.

2. BhagvadGeetha says to  remain unaltered (within chittha) in happiness and sorrow and unattached to the  material (events as well as to objects). These greats were param Bhagavata . hence they take things as they come without actually making effort to either avoid the events nor do they make special efforts in acquiring fame, wealth etc. Things come to them naturally and they enjoy them without being attached. For e.g. Bheemasena never used any astras even though he had siddhi of 9 crores astras. even if it meant immediate death when faced with agni astra. he did not counter them but made pieces of them with his own heat. Pandavas remained bramhacharya most of the times in their life even if they had most beautiful women as their wife. and many other wives. they were unattached to pleasures and pains of loss of kingdom.

3. Man has many types of karmas binding him a> Sanchita karma b> agami karma c> prarabdha karma. sanchita is one we have accumulated over many births. agami that we are definitely going to perform in our future births without our having any control. Prarabdha is that which we are presently enjoying or suffering. a part sanchita later becomes prarabdha. out of this prarabdha there is one more which is called anadi karma. that which covers the souls like a skin of banana. This is the grand plan of Lord . this is what no one can change. Most of the events that we have mentioned are of this nature. Though Lord is mercifull he showers benefits to even mitigate these . But at that stage a bhakta becomes nirlipta to ask for such favours. instead he chooses to bear the destiny leaving everything to Lord . –a Jeevanmukta. Yudhisthira and all such others and Pandavas were Jeevanmuktas.

I have given the above points to the best of my knowledge and learning it is not complete in itself , more learned may throw more light on it and whatever errors found be forgiven and taken as in  hansaKshirnyaya.
